got an 38.5 kg monster last night

this fish ended up dying on me after beached so instead of leaving it on the sand to waste i took it home with me. by the way tarpon aren't good to eat, that's why most ppl release them(i do the same to)but if do kept they make good shark bait which i plan to do with this fish.

I replied before the post was edited oh well. I have heard that tarpon is good for sharks, the smaller ones here are good as flesh baits for jacks and cod.

All good bud, I have never used tarpon for shark bait, but i'm sure it's a gun bait! :woohoo:

unfortunately the same night i caught the tarpon and a thief snatched my back pack.

by the way i caught the fish on a 3oz bucktail jig.
