Hey guys! Thinking bout heading up to somerset for a couple nights in two weeks time. Was just wondering if anyone has had any recent success with bass and or red claw as I'm takin the pots up to.

Cheers

mate we only gotr afew redclaw over the weekend around 100 but all quite big. best bait by far was the rock melon. their were heaps of fish showing on the sounder around islands and points while we were doing the pots. my advise would be to go during the week as the boating traffic is hecktic or try going as far away from boat ramps as possible.

if you are looking for a really good dam to fish that produces good bass, yellas, silvers and alot of toga and you dont need to travle far to get into them is borumba dam

yeh mate, their is a camp site their and it is a great atmospher. the grounds keepers are always wondering around looking for a chat. the boat ramp is a 3 or 4 lane ramp with cleanong table.

drop in some shrimp traps as well for a back up bait. their are millions of trees to choose from, along with overhanging lantarna that the toga love sitting under and their is heaps and heaps of weed beds and lillie pads around the dam also.

this is a basic layout

red indecates trees

green weed beds

their is also yappa creek directly behind the camp ground and if you have a yak can follow it for miles and mile and it produces some hard dirty fighting bass
