017 (Temporary) of 2014

Brisbane pilotage area

Locality: Town Reach, Brisbane River

Activity: geotechnical drilling

Mariners are advised that geotechnical drilling will take place in various locations just

downstream of the Captain Cook Bridge in the Town Reach of the Brisbane River – approximate position latitude 27° 28.7' S, longitude 153° 01.95' E.

The drilling is scheduled to commence 14 January 2014 and continue for up to three months. The drilling will be carried out using a spudded barge and the operation will take place in daylight hours only.

The barge will also display an all round white light and orange flashing lights on each corner at night.

Mariners are requested to keep well clear and navigate with caution when passing the operations.

Latitude and longitude positions are on WGS84 horizontal datum and are compatible with GDA94 datum.

Noosa pilotage area

Locality: Noosa River near Goat Island

Activity: Starboard lateral buoy restored to normal

Refer to notice: 008(t) of 2014

Mariners are advised that the starboard lateral buoy in the Noosa River, south of Goat Island in position latitude 26° 23.7520' S, longitude 153° 02.9750' E has been restored to normal.

MSQ Beacon to Beacon Directory 9th edition map: 60

Latitude and longitude positions are on WGS84 horizontal datum and are compatible with GDA94 datum.
