Locality: Gold Coast Bridge, Nerang River, Southport

Activity: continuation of bridge works - reduction of width for access channels

Refer to notice: 019 (T) of 2014

Mariners are advised that from Tuesday 18 February 2014 the width of the downstream access channel to Span 5, currently in use, will be reduced while construction barges are positioned for overhead girder lifts.

Whilst the two construction barges are positioned either side of the navigation span, visibility both upstream and downstream may be affected when transiting vessels are in close proximity to the bridge.

Mariners are advised to approach the marked access channels at the bridge works with caution and keep a vigilant lookout for other vessel traffic in the work area .
