ANSA NSW has commenced tagging mulloway under a pilot project that will provide data on growth and the movement details of the iconic species. The project will contribute valuable data to the current Mulloway Research Program that is currently collecting size, age and quantity information in NSW.

In conjunction with NSW Fisheries, ANSA NSW is managing the project and has selected a team of prominent mulloway anglers and fishing guides who will participate with the hope of tagging up to 1000 fish from the state's rivers, estuaries, harbours and inshore and offshore locations.

Anglers who capture tagged fish are encouraged to record tag numbers, measure the fish and release it again which will help provide more valuable data.

If you do catch the fish of a lifetime that is tagged, please ensure you record the length, weight and return the details as per the instructions on the tag or contact ANSA NSW.

As part of the mulloway research angler program, Julian Hughes is also collecting heads and frames of mulloway.
