new south wales Bechworms Northern Rivers Area

Currently staying at Evans Head and wanting to get some beachworms. I've dragged the stinker at various places along Airforce Beach but there doesn't seem to be any around.  Can anybody suggest a beach in the area that's renowned for beachworms?  Cheers

From memory, Airforce Beach is a coarse, gritty sand ??

I can't give you a specific beach, however you need to find a beach with finer white sand.

Airforce beach is quite fine sand.  The wind turned around to the SE yesterday and there was a few about.  Pretty timid little buggers, but managed to get a few.  Now  to just find something that'll bite.

Whiting, Flathead, Bream.  Have tried the river a few times with Yabbies with hardly a bite.  Going to give the worms a try over the next couple of days.  It's blowing a gale outside, so the beach is a no-go at the moment.

Have you had a chat at the tackle shop ? Usually good for some pointers.

Glad you found a few mate. I hope the wind drops and you can target a few of the beach gutters. I like to fish the really shallow gutters at low tide for whiting and as the water comes in, so do the bream.

The wind was good today and there were plenty of worms around about 1.5hrs either side of low tide just out front of the surf club.  Got  a reasonable stockpile of bait now and hopefully nail a few fish tomoorrow.
