Best time to catch mullet

Hey guys,

I’ve got a house on the Norman creek and I go cast netting 

 

I’m wondering what the best time and tide time  to cast net to catch mullet is because I seem to have caught most of my mullet at night but I’m wondering about other times and tide times

Hi mate, 

I normally find it depends on where you cast and what tide. I like casting on a relatively shallow (approx 1m) section of muddy bank, but the main thing is the tide is low enough that it is not covering any nearby mangroves or bits of structure the fish could be hiding in.

slimy rocks and mud is where they will be feeding....preferably shallows about 40cm deep for best results.
