K’gari report

I’m up at K’gari (Fraser island) at the moment and this place is alive. Tailor are thick on both ends of the beach; whales, dolphins, sharks and turtles sighted daily and wongari (dingos) lurking at most aggregations of humans. Best of all many happy fishermen and women enjoying the great fishing and weather. 
 

I got a chance to fish one night with 2 mates and had a memorable session. We had an hour of power with 20+ fish caught the smallest being 45cm and the biggest 64cm. We kept 10 to take home and released the rest including a 60cm fish. I also caught some smaller models on slugs and stickbaits during the day which was fun. 
 

packing up and moving day tomorrow. Back to reality on Monday

Some nice fish there. I’m  heading up there in early October to try and get some larger specimens. We got some 70 plus fish last September on stick baits and Halco Twisties, Appears  this year has been a good season .Hopefully they hang around another month  for me.

Gday Neil. The water is relatively warm up here already but hasn’t affected the tailor bite that’s for sure! I hope they stick around til October too mate

Hi all just got back from up there yesterday after a week with friends. Fish everywhere. I saw bream flathead jew dart and trevally come in amongst all the tailor. My best day was Saturday few kms south of Indian. stopped at 10 fish all over 40 cm all on slugs. Something magic about fighting a big fish with 1 eye on the dingo behind you and the other on the whale breaching in front of you. 

(P.s. - I don't usually fish cross eyed)

Good to hear, @Jono4500. Those dingoes are getting cheekier by the year. I don't mind when they're in front of me, but less confident when they're behind.
