Mid Morning Snapper

[Allnighter]

Had a scout around some new ground at one of the southern bay islands yesterday morning at the top/turn of the tide. We were pleasantly surprised and rewarded with a nice snapper as the tide turned, but then at this new spot the current became too strong to keep fishing so we pulled up stumps and headed in to the shallows for a swim and a snorkel. Pretty keen to return and explore on a different tide to learn how it produces.

We launched at VP yesterday. Unlucky not to run into each other. Maybe we were a bit early, or wouldn't have recognised you in a snorkel mask.

Where we were, the bite switched off straight after the turn.

You're a brave man snorkeling with all the man-eaters around.

Damn Brian !!!  If i had of known i would have been happy to burn some fuel to come and say hello.... we were fishing around 8 or 9am, and yea the sharks are usually in the back of my mind while snorkelling but eh.... not much of me to snack on. We'll have to get together again soon for a session

We launched at 6.30. Caught fish until 9, then pretended to be fishermen whilst listening to music and solving the World's problems until 1pm.

You know if the weather is good, I'm likely out there somewhere. haha  I should do a better job of keeping in touch.

It's looking like Wednesday and Thursday next week might be a goer. I'm heading out tomorrow as well, but the full moon might make it a bit tough.

Yes Brian, but only a little berley.

We missed a bigger one which unfortunately didn't set the hook, and then the high current spoiled our fun with even Minny struggling to stay in position so definately a location for neap tides
