  1. A reel that fixes itself! Now that’s worth buying.
  2. Also, there is no space before a full stop.
  3. Just read it back to yourself. Every time you stop for a new thought put a full stop. If you pause when reading it, put a comma. We’ll ‘learn’ you yet. Lol.
  4. Bro, commas and full stops PLEASE!
  5. No unfortunately. Longest is 7’ 6”, except for the 10’ 6” which is the one I bought.
  6. Well done Hamish! I noticed the avatar change but didn’t say anything because you’d already given it away by posting that you had ticked off the metre plus salmon goal. And don’t worry too much about it not being releasable. Many anglers, myself included, like to catch fish to eat them. I am of the school of thought that a one metre salmon and a decent whiting are both fish. Why is it wrong to keep one but not the other? Why is the salmon more entitled to being released than the whiting? In fact, that is one of the reasons I don’t chase whiting. Can’t see the point in killing twenty little fish for a feed when one big fish can provide the same amount of food. I also have never tried whitebait for the same reason. Hundreds of them needed for a single feed. I think that is far worse than keeping one large fish.
  7. No biggie really. I’m sure any of them will work. Just thought someone might have more knowledge than me, which as usual is just above zero.
  8. Nope. One mentions handling Sabiki jigs up to size 10, whatever that means. Lol. But that’s it.
  9. After a bit of research, there appears to be three brands of Sabiki bait jig rods. They are Okuma, Jarvis Walker and Rovex. I like the look and design of the Jarvis Walker one most. Does anyone have any views on which is best?
  10. I’m a fan of the bait runners too. Just bought another 12000D.
  11. I wasn’t game to show my ignorance. Glad you asked @ellicat.
  12. Great haul. When’s my turn to take your deckie out?
  13. Wrong year Hamish. But can’t wait for the report!
  14. Understood. We’ll just wait and see what others think then.
  15. Due to the lack of responses so far I will go first. I would probably prefer the following weekend because Tom is working on Great Keppel Island for a month (for the experience, not the money, which is absolutely pathetic!) and doesn’t finish until around the 15th. I think he would love to come along.
  16. Mate, we’re all poor on here. Can’t afford to live in Sydney. In fact , most of us can’t even afford to live on the Northside of Brisbane. They’re stuck on the Southside.
  17. I always wondered what those small hooks in my tackle box were for.
  18. If I do go, I’m sure there will be a place in my boat, if no one else has room.
  19. Mine tows very well too but I think I’d want to have a stone guard installed before towing it on a 2000 odd km round trip.
  20. I’ve rented a house at Tin Can Bay for five nights in early March for a family getaway. It was only around $600 and backs onto Snapper Creek. Could be another possibility. And it’s not that far a run from there up to the bottom of Fraser at least.
  21. Didn’t someone on here buy a house up that way somewhere?
  22. Count me out. Sharks? I’d rather not fish. Lol.
