  1. I was thinking the same thing Brian. A size 2 hook, let alone a size 4!, would get lost in a third of a pilchard. Size 2/0 sounds about right to me.
  2. The only problem is, if I do that, I will get them mixed up with all the marks I already have with those same names.
  3. I’ve never had a full string to bring up!
  4. Well, on that recommendation it looks like I’ll be out another 90 bucks.
  5. Hi all, I was out at Tackleworld Lawnton today and saw a rod I’d never seen before. That doesn’t mean they haven’t been around for years but I wasn’t aware of them. Basically, they are a specialised rod used just for bait jigs. The rod is hollow and the line goes up the inside of the rod and comes out at the top. You attach a bait jig and sinker and when you wind it right up the bait jig goes inside the rod at the top with the sinker sitting on top. It worked a treat when the sales guy demonstrated it to me. It is designed so that you don’t have all those tiny hooks hanging out ready to catch the unwary angler. I almost bought one but had a couple of reservations. The rod itself looks very stiff. It is not tapered like a normal rod. Do you think you’d still feel the bites. There would next to no give in the rod either when bringing a fish in. Does anyone have one, or has anyone used one? Great idea. Just not sure whether it would actually work well when in use. cheers Greg
  6. Hi @Hweebe. Thanks for posting those.I have a Lowrance but just had a couple of questions before I upload them. Roughly how many marks are there? Do they cover the bay with marks or are they limited? How are the marks named? Do they make sense or are they just a series of numbers. Just trying to imagine what the map will look like once they are inserted and if you can identify marks of interest to your style of fishing by their names. It’s just that I have quite a few marks already, especially near Wathumba and northwards, already on the map. Sorry to be a nuisance. cheers Greg
  7. No. Unfortunately. Thought about it but it’s a long way to tow a boat when the weather could well be crap when you get there. Lol.
  8. No unfortunately. Still waiting for a good weather day. They are few and far between at the moment and off to Mackay and Hamilton Island for Christmas/New Year next week so it will have to be next year now.
  9. It’s mainly the passionfruit trout I’d like to catch. Such a beautiful fish.
  10. 1. As @Drop Bearsaid, to see in 2022. 2. More days on the water 3. A big snapper

Well, that’s pretty good. Most people think wombats are very cute. Lol.
