    Sounds like you’ve pretty well got it sussed out.

    Another benefit of having twin batteries is that they’re very unlikely to go at exactly the same time, so you can wait until one does go then replace it, rather than replacing it early because you haven’t got a backup.

    All the jetties I used to fish on had dried blood, scales and pieces of old bait on them. I wouldn’t worry too much about cleaning them Hamish. I don’t think the council is going to close them down if they get a letter about signs of fishing activity on a jetty designed for fishing. cheers Greg
